*     Our Master Class on February 20th at Sparsholt College was a great success and we are particularly grateful to Penny Hollings for coming all the way from Blackburn to teach all day.  We had 42 ponies over 5 classes and everyone voted it a huge success.  The majority of the organising was done by new committee member  Heather Wooster who spent the whole day making sure that everyone had a wonderful time and fed soup and rolls to keep the cold out.   Another thank you must go to our President Ed Fisher who was in the ring the entire day as Mock Judge and never failed to give support to all those children waiting in line.  We could not have done it without him.  For further feedback click here.

Points Competition

Young Judges

The prestigious Young Judges Competition is held every year at the BSPS Summer Championships and Area 8 has won it twice.  The Area intends to enter at least one team again this year.  Specially designed training sessions with experts will be held throughout the year.  If you are interested in learning from the experts and then competing at the Championships please contact Heather Wooster on 0118  9721136.   You must be 14 years old to compete, but attendance at the training sessions is open to any Area 8 member so why not come along and see what you can learn.

Area Teams

The Area Teams at the BSPS Summer Championships are a great opportunity for an Area to get together.  It would be fantastic if this year we were able to put some teams together and fly the Area 8 flag.  All you have to do is let us know if you have qualified for and are entering the Premier League class at the Championships and we will put forward a team.  There is no additional competing required.  There are classes for Dressage, Show Hunter Ponies, Show Ponies and Working Hunter Ponies.

Contact Sandra O’Halloran on 07816  573937

Teach Ins

A Jumping Teach In will be held on a weekday in the Easter holidays 2008.  The committee are constantly considering these events and any input from the members would be appreciatted.  If you are interested in attending, or have any suggestions for future instructional days please contact pat.e.fisher@talk21.com.
